An Evening Of Jazz Artistry
I would be less than honest if I said anything less than “Al DiMeola is one of my favorite musicians, jazz or otherwise”, and his performance last night at the Berklee Performance Center supported that opinion.
Al made a triumphant return to his former stomping grounds (I suppose I can’t call it an alma mater since he never graduated) on Halloween for the last show of his US Elegant Gypsy & More 2015 tour.
An Italian Star Shines
I had not heard of Zucchero before a friend mentioned this concert to me and how much she wanted to see him. I decided to attend without so much as watching a YouTube video of him.
Zucchero is a huge star in Italy and, judging by the reaction of the audience, he’s big here as well.
An Evening of (Mostly) Love Songs
I went to this show not knowing what to expect, other than a mellow evening starring the chanteuse Madeleine Peyroux.
What we got was mellow in one sense – the audience wasn’t dancing in the aisles – but in another sense was quite stirring and emotional. Read the rest of this entry
