Alternate Root TV Hosts Chris Smither

Chris Smither will be the guest artist at an Extended Play session at Alternate Root TV on Monday, August 11th at 7pm!

“Chris Smither carved a name in the guitar case shared by all traveling troubadours many years ago. After making that climb with successes such as the Bonnie Raitt hit with Chris’ “Love Me Like A Man” and “I Feel the Same”, his desire for the one-night-stand life died with friend and labelmate Towne Van Zandt, and inspirations such as Tim Hardin and Tim Buckley. He left the music business in the late 1970s to become a carpenter. ‘Still on the Levee’ revisits songs from Chris Smither’s fifty years penning tunes, and returns New Orleans-born songwriter to record at NOLA’s The Music Shed, where album guests such as Allen Toussaint could stop by. Other musical guests on ‘Still on the Levee’ are Loudon Wainwright III and Chris’ western Massachusetts neighbors including former members of Morphine, Kris Delmhorst and American Roots band Rusty Belle.”

The Alternate Root is pleased to host a special night of filming featuring Chris Smither on Monday, August 11, 2014. Doors are at 6pm with the show at 7pm and you can be included (for a $25 donation) by contacting them via e-mail at studioconcertseries@gmail.com.

Located just 25 minutes from downtown Boston and free parking! The donation includes good food and an open bar! Oh, and hopefully a poster that you can have the artist sign to hang on your wall! How can you go wrong with that???

About suze72

I've loved the arts all my life... I go to a lot of concerts, take lots of photos and want to share them. Every once in a while I do something other than a concert, too. The Boston area is full of opportunities to indulge my passion - I'd like to help make it yours too!
