Newport Folk Festival Started The 2015 Rolling Lineup Announcements

I’m still a relative newcomer to the Newport Folk Festival, compared to friends who have been attending for 20+ years. The first year I attended was 2012 and I think it will be a part of my life for years to come.

For the past couple of years, NFF decided to do rolling announcements of the lineup rather than announcing the entire lineup at the same time. It’s part frustrating (because I want to know NOW) but mostly exciting (who’s going to be announced NEXT).

The first announcements were made over the past week.  They are:

Courtney Barnett – an Australian musician who is wowing audiences across the US

Sturgill Simpson – one of the hottest musicians on the Nashville music scene today

Haunt the House – this band is described as falling somewhere between a bedroom whispered heart broken prayer and a brilliant repentant cry in the dark

So far, I’m already thrilled that I have a three-day ticket.

I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on the acts, once I know who is performing which day.

At this point, the only remaining type of ticket is the Friday single-day ticket. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get your tickets now!!!

Friday: Haunt the House

Saturday:  Courtney Barnett, Sturgill Simpson

I've loved the arts all my life... I go to a lot of concerts, take lots of photos and want to share them. Every once in a while I do something other than a concert, too. The Boston area is full of opportunities to indulge my passion - I'd like to help make it yours too!
