Holiday Extravaganza At The Extended Play Sessions
The Extended Play Sessions First Annual Holiday Festival will be Friday, December 18th as we welcome the amazing Chandler Travis Philharmonic to the Fallout Shelter stage.

Chandler Travis Philharmonic (Official Poster)
Chandler Travis is a throwback to a different time. Part vaudeville, part Brit pop, part California garage but all rolled into a consummate entertainer and songwriter.
The Chandler Travis Philharmonic is a 9-piece ensemble from Boston that includes a horn section, string bass, keyboard, mandocello, guitar, drums, accordion, and singing valet. It’s possible they might be the missing link between the Kinks and Sun Ra…
There’s some chance you may be aware of Chandler’s other band, the Incredible Casuals, or of his earlier work with Travis Shook and the Club Wow; either solo or in one or another of these guises, he has appeared with Elvis Costello, Green Day, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, John Cale, Bonnie Raitt, NRBQ (longtime buds Terry Adams and Al Anderson from the ‘Q played on the first Philharmonic album), Charles Mingus, the Beach Boys, Allen Ginsburg, the Replacements and George Carlin.
Here’s a video from The Chandler Travis Three-O from The Extended Play Sessions.
The Philharmonic was born in the fall of 1996 at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, on the occasion of Chandler doing a guest shot there with a house band led by multi-instrumentalist/singer Dinty Child. When asked if he would like to add any additional instrumentation, Chandler, having always hated when elderly bands ran out of ideas to this extent, facetiously suggested “oh yeah, let’s get some horns and chick back-up singers.” Strangely, Dinty complied with the horn part, booking (among others) genius trumpeter Keiichi Hashimoto, and the Chandler Travis Philharmonic was surprisingly hatched!
This is a unique venue with very limited seating for just 40 lucky souls; every seat is no more than 25 feet from the stage. There is also enough room to dance, if the spirit moves you!
No flash photography or professional video cameras are allowed but you may take photos during the show… just turn off your flash and silence your cameras/phones.
We’re fortunate to have this orchestra grace the stage and space is filling up VERY fast. If you are interested in attending this event on Friday, December 18th, there is still a small number of seats available and will be confirmed via email. Doors are at 6:00 pm with the show at 7:00 pm and you can be included by contacting them via e-mail at studioconcertseries@gmail.com. Confirmations including the address are issued on a FIRST COME basis. Once confirmed, your seat is reserved. You must email for a confirmation prior to the show.
Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary food from our legendary buffet as well as beverages. Beverages and food are available during the filming as well.
The Extended Play Sessions at The Fallout Shelter is located just 30 minutes from downtown Boston in Norwood, Massachusetts (minutes off I-95 and Route 1) and has free parking right outside the doors! You and about 49 other people will receive a fabulous limited edition poster that the artists will sign to hang on your wall.
Come and celebrate the Holidays with us and the Chandler Travis Philharmonic.
This event will hit capacity very quickly so if you plan to attend please RSVP as soon as possible.
Have a Happy!
