The 2016 Newport Folk Festival Lineup Announcements Have Begun!
The Newport Folk Festival started its lineup announcements last week and the initial ones are winners!
The announcements made over the past week are:
Ray LaMontagne – I saw him perform once at a venue I do not particularly like with an obnoxious audience, so I am excited to see him again at NFF where the sound is great and the audience generally respectful.
Father John Misty – I saw him at NFF two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed his set (especially since he sat on my friend’s lap!), and am looking forward to seeing him solo this year.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats – I regrettably missed his set last year, but I won’t make the same mistake this year!
Joan Shelley – I listened to the Tiny Desk Concert link that NFF posted and I really liked what I heard!
I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on which acts to see, once I know who is performing which day.
At this point, the only remaining type of ticket is the Friday single-day ticket. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get your tickets now!!!
