The Newport Folk Lineup Announcements Continue
The Newport Folk Festival continue its lineup announcements and – as expected – they are winners!
The announcements made over the past week are:
Fruit Bats – “Bloody marys, major 7th chords, Nashville tuning, Tibetan singing bowls” is in their Facebook description. They sound fascinating!
Son Little – I saw him open a show a couple of years ago and really enjoyed him. Future soul!
Dave Simonett and Dave Carroll (of Trampled by Turtles) – I describe the band as bluegrass on speed, and am very excited to see this duo perform.
I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on which acts to see, once I know who is performing which day.
At this point, the only remaining type of ticket is the Friday single-day ticket. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get your tickets now!!!
Friday: Ray LaMontagne with My Morning Jacket, Raury, St.Paul and the Broken Bones, Flight of the Conchords, Fruit Bats
Saturday: Father John Misty, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Ruby Amanfu, Dave Simonett and Dave Carroll
Sunday: Joan Shelley, Villagers, The Oh Hellos, Son Little
