Several Interesting Announcements By The Newport Folk Festival Last Week

The Newport Folk Festival continue its lineup announcements and – as expected – they are winners!

The announcements made over the past week are:

case/lang/veirs (Neko Case, k.d. lang, Laura Veirs) – This should be an extremely interesting collaboration.

Norah Jones – I have never seen her, but not for lack of desire, and now I can!

Glen Hansard – One of the stars of the film Once, he is gaining greater recognition as a touring musician and I cannot wait to see him at NFF!

I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on which acts to see, once I know who is performing which day.

At this point, the only remaining type of ticket is the Friday single-day ticket. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get your tickets now!!!

Friday:  Ray LaMontagne with My Morning Jacket, Raury, St.Paul and the Broken Bones, Flight of the Conchords, Fruit Bats, case/lang/veirs

Saturday:  Father John Misty, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Ruby Amanfu, Dave Simonett and Dave Carroll, Norah Jones

Sunday:  Joan Shelley, Villagers, The Oh Hellos, Son Little, Glen Hansard

About suze72

I've loved the arts all my life... I go to a lot of concerts, take lots of photos and want to share them. Every once in a while I do something other than a concert, too. The Boston area is full of opportunities to indulge my passion - I'd like to help make it yours too!
