The Newport Folk Festival continues its rolling lineup announcements with more excellent artists!

The announcements made over the past week are:

The Weather Station – This is a Canadian band that has gotten great press and I am looking forward to being introduced to their music.

Sturgill Simpson – Yippee! I love this man and am thrilled he is returning to the Festival! He is an incredible musician and if you have not heard him, you need to remedy that immediately!

Tank and the Bangas – I saw this marvelous soul/R&B band at a festival last summer and loved them! Very high energy!

I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on which acts to see, once I know who is performing which day.

At this point, the Festival is sold out; the right way to try to purchase a ticket is through their fan-to-fan ticket exchange. Get yourself on the waiting list – I know a lot of people who were able to purchase tickets last year through this site. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get on the list now!!!

Friday:  Fantastic Negrito, Sturgill Simpson

Saturday:  Courtney Barnett, Tank and the Bangas

Sunday: The Weather Station

About suze72

I've loved the arts all my life... I go to a lot of concerts, take lots of photos and want to share them. Every once in a while I do something other than a concert, too. The Boston area is full of opportunities to indulge my passion - I'd like to help make it yours too!
