More Great Additions to the Newport Folk Festival Lineup
Week 7 started off with a fabulous announcement, as has every week before this week!
This week’s additions to the lineup are:
Jimmy Cliff – wonderful reggae artist who I’ve not seen perform for a long time
Willie Watson – a singer-songwriter who is on the rise with his solo career (he was with Old Crow Medicine Show)
Puss n Boots – a new collaboration but Norah Jones is a member
Lucius – an indie pop-rock band that I’ve been interested to see for a while
The lineup, so far, includes:
Friday: The Devil Makes Three, Band of Horses, Death Vessel, Jenny Lewis, Phox, Robert Hunter, Reignwolf, Jimmy Cliff
Saturday: Shakey Graves, The Oh Hellos, Benjamin Booker, Nickel Creek, Shovels and Rope, Houndmouth, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, The Milk Carton Kids, Aoife O’Donovan, Willie Watson, Puss n Boots, Lucius
Sunday: Hurray for the Riff Raff, Mavis Staples, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Trampled by Turtles, Gregory Alan Isakov, Lucero, Caitlin Rose, Conor Oberst, Dawes, Rodrigo y Gabriela
Another Interesting Set of Lineup Announcements for Newport Folk Festival
Wow, week 5 started off with a fabulous announcement!
This week’s additions to the lineup are:
Robert Hunter – the great lyricist of The Grateful Dead
Lucero – a Memphis-based band that’s been described as country-punk
Caitlin Rose – singer-songwriter from Nashville
The Milk Carton Kids – an indie folk/Americana duo from California (I love these guys and am delighted that they’ll be back at the Fort this year)
The lineup, so far, includes:
