“Walter Salas-Humara was raised bilingual Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a Cuban-American whose parents fled Castro’s Havana with him still in the womb. Walter heard the call, coming to NC just as the style was starting to leave the building. He formed The Silos in 1985.The band was voted Best New American Band in Rolling Stone Magazine’s Critics’ Poll of 1987 and appeared on Late Night with David Letterman in 1990. The year 2014 sees the release of a new Walter Salas-Humara solo album, ‘Curve and Shake’. The feeling is gentle, not quite scary, but with an element of unease. His words are presented as if they’re describing straightforward events and his guitar playing walks between stinging one moment to dreamy and droning the next.”

The Alternate Root is pleased to host a special night of filming featuring singer-songwriter Walter Salas-Humara on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Doors are at 6pm with the show at 7pm and you can be included (for a $25 donation) by contacting them via e-mail at studioconcertseries@gmail.com.

Alternate Root TV is located just 25 minutes from downtown Boston and has free parking right outside the doors! The donation includes good food and an open bar! Oh, you and about 40 other people will received a poster that the artist will sign to hang on your wall! How can you go wrong with that???

I've loved the arts all my life... I go to a lot of concerts, take lots of photos and want to share them. Every once in a while I do something other than a concert, too. The Boston area is full of opportunities to indulge my passion - I'd like to help make it yours too!
