The Extended Play Sessions Continue With Soul and Jazz by WeAreBaker
The Extended Play Sessions American Roots Music Television announced that soul/jazz act WeAreBaker will be in the studio for a Session on Friday, January 23rd at 7 pm. This Session sounds like it will be one not to miss!
Let’s continue our march into 2015 with some wonderful music!
“WeAreBaker transformed from a lone songwriting project, to a deeply rooted symbiosis of sound and verse. The duo wrote and produced 22 original compositions within their first series of recording sessions. This empirical collection of songs will be issued through multiple EP releases; the first, a 5 track EP titled ‘Prologue: The Farmers Daughter’, channels southern rock, soul and folk.
“The music is haunting, steeped in innuendo and double-entendre, flowing like a thick humid cloud through lace curtains blowing on a river breeze. Mishal Moore’s voice is nearly perfect, channeling soul, blues, jazz and folk through vintage tones and raw, primitive sexuality. The juxtaposition of Richard Cortez’s understated guitar tones and gritty vocals keep WeAreBaker in perfect balance. The music is purposefully intense and melodically captivating. Listen to “The Owl” or “Farmer’s Daughter” here and you will feel the vibe of this incredible evening to come.
“Over the past 13 years, Mishal Moore and Richard Cortez have perfected their craft while touring across Europe and North America as solo artists. They have performed at countless festivals, supporting such artists as jazz legend Maceo Parker and pop icon Patti LaBelle. The two accomplished artists bring an elevated pedigree of musical execution to form WeAreBaker.”
This is a unique “speakeasy” with very limited seating for just 40 lucky souls; every seat is no more than 25 feet from the stage.
No flash photography or professional video cameras are allowed but you may take photos during the show… just turn off your flash and silence your cameras/phones.
