This week started with a fabulous announcement!  The Newport Folk Festival continues its lineup announcements and added even more interesting acts.

The announcements made over the past week are:

The Decemberists – I recently saw them for the first time and loved the show! This might be the first headliner to be announced…

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats – This is another band about which I’ve heard good things. I love the name of the band!!!

Angel Olsen – I had not heard of her prior to this announcement – she’s an indie folk-rocker from what I can tell.

I continue to be thrilled that I have a three-day ticket.

I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on the acts, once I know who is performing which day.

At this point, the only remaining type of ticket is the Friday single-day ticket. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get your tickets now!!!

Friday: Haunt the House, Leon Bridges, The Lone Bellow, Bahamas, Heartless Bastards, Calexico, Iron & Wine and Sam Bridwell, Joe Pug, Watkins Family Hour, Angel Olsen

Saturday:  Courtney Barnett, Sturgill Simpson, Madisen Ward and The Mama Bear, Langhorne Slim & The Law, Brandi Carlile, The Suffers, Traveller, Nikki Lane, José González, The Decemberists

I've loved the arts all my life... I go to a lot of concerts, take lots of photos and want to share them. Every once in a while I do something other than a concert, too. The Boston area is full of opportunities to indulge my passion - I'd like to help make it yours too!
