The 2016 Newport Folk Festival Lineup Announcements Continue!
The Newport Folk Festival continue its lineup announcements and – as expected – they are winners!
The announcements made over the past week are:
Raury – He sounds quite interesting; soul/hip-hop/folk.
My Morning Jacket – Members of the band (but not Jim James) will back Ray LaMontagne in his set.
Villagers – I have never heard of them and that’s much of the excitement for this festival: being introduced to my new favorite bands!
St. Paul and the Broken Bones – I am so excited to be able to see them! Several friends saw a recent show and said it was one of their favorites in recent memory.
I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on which acts to see, once I know who is performing which day.
At this point, the only remaining type of ticket is the Friday single-day ticket. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get your tickets now!!!
Friday: Ray LaMontagne with My Morning Jacket, Raury, St.Paul and the Broken Bones
Saturday: Father John Misty, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats
Sunday: Joan Shelley, Villagers
