New Music For Your Ears
Recently I was introduced to two bands in the Americana genre and I believe both are worthy of your attention and support.
The first, Leland Sundries, has been together for a number of years and has released an EP and live album, but are releasing their first full album, Music for Outcasts, consisting of all original music on June 3rd.
Here is the first video from the album for your listening pleasure. Titled ‘Maps of the West’, they combine Americana, garage rock, and indie-folk to create a song with a unique sound. You can still pre-order the album through PledgeMusic.
They are embarking on a national tour this summer, with stops in Boston, Nashville, Memphis, Chicago, Austin, New Orleans, and others. The tour also includes a stop at the fabulous Green River Festival, for which tickets are still available.
The other band is Silver City Bound which takes its name from a Lead Belly song. They are headed to Istanbul and Azerbaijan on tour as I write this (or may already be there).
Here is the first video, ‘Take My Picture’, from the EP. They are another unique voice in the Americana genre.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! I am eager to see them both live.
