What a Great Way to Celebrate International Women’s Day!
When I chose to see Allison Russell with Kyshona opening at The Sinclair this week, I did not know it was International Women’s Day. How fortuitous, though, to see a show where the musicians are incredibly passionate about women’s rights.

The Lowell Summer Music Series Announces Grammy-Winning Colbie Caillat
The Lowell Summer Music Series is bringing two-time Grammy® award winner Colbie Caillat & Gone West to the stage at Boarding House Park on Friday, July 12th. I do not know anything about her other than her name, so I look forward to getting to know a new artist under the stars!
Get Ready To Rock With The Mavericks!
My prayers have been answered – The Mavericks are coming to the Lowell Summer Music Series for the first time! They will appear on the Boarding House Park stage on Friday, August 30th! This will be the best dance party you have ever attended, so make sure you are wearing your dancing shoes!
Who Had More Fun, The Band Or The Audience?
I am not sure I can say it was not the band who had more fun at the Glorietta show at Brighton Music Hall this week. Many of you may not be aware of this collaboration, which was in the middle of its one-and-done tour, but they are a group of friends who happen to be extraordinarily talented musicians who decided to tour together for a short while. Oh, and release an album too.

The Final Round Of AmericanaFest Performers Announced
The final round of lineup announcements was made a couple of weeks ago (while I was on vacation). I am excited that some more friends and personal favorites are on the list! I already wish this festival lasted for six weeks instead of six days so I could see everyone I want to see!
Some of those friends/favorites are: Birds of Chicago, Charley Crockett, JP Harris, Rev. Sekou and The Lone Bellow (to name a few).
This is an amazing festival/conference. Even if you only purchase a wristband, it is still a terrific experience. The full conference registration, in my opinion, is money well spent because you can attend panel discussions and receive invitations to special events.

The Second Round Of AmericanaFest Performers Adds More Incredible Artists
The second round of lineup announcements was made a couple of days ago. More amazing artists are added, including some friends and personal favorites! I already wish this festival lasted for six weeks instead of six days so I could see everyone I want to see!
Some of those friends/favorites are: Aaron Lee Tasjan, Amy Helm, Amythyst Kiah, Ben Hunter & Joe Seamons, Greyhounds, Guy Davis, Kirby Brown, The Suffers, and Ruby Boots (to name a few).

Amy Helm Rocked Kai’s Music Garden!
Amy Helm is one of my very favorite musicians, so I was thrilled when she announced a show at Kai’s Music Garden which is only a half hour drive for me. I was probably the first person to buy a ticket!

The Oh Hellos Delivered A High-Intensity Show – As Always!
Ever since the first time I saw The Oh Hellos at Newport Folk Festival, I try to see them whenever they are in town (wherever my current town may be), so I was delighted when they announced a show at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale!

I was even more delighted when a band to whom they introduced me several years ago in Boston, Family and Friends, was announced as the opener!

New Music From Canadian Artist David Myles
One of the things I love most about owning this website (although I honestly love EVERYTHING about owning it) is that I am introduced to artists I might never come across. Canadian David Myles is one of those artists.

I do not always receive music that I thoroughly enjoy as much as I enjoy Myles’ album.
