The Town and the City Festival is Fast Approaching

This is a wonderful small festival that has been growing since its inception a few years ago. This year the lineup is fabulous and I know I am going to have some hard choices to make! Join me in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 28 and 29 for a great weekend! Note that it is possible to buy individual tickets to specific shows, but you will get the most value from buying a weekend pass ($58).

The Town and the City Festival Celebrates Kerouac and Lowell

There is a wonderful festival in Lowell, Massachusetts this weekend that celebrates music and Jack Kerouac in the city where he was born and buried. Many local musicians as well as national touring artists are featured. I have some favorites who are appearing – Jon Langford, Damn Tall Buildings, and Will Dailey to name a few – but I am excited to see artists who are new to me! See you there!

The Town and The City Festival announced its venue by venue schedule for the two-day music and arts festival on Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts. Two-Day Passes and Advanced Individual Day Passes are on sale now at www.thetownandthecityfestival.com

Recent additions to The Town And The City Festival lineup include Saturniids, Sinnet, Naomi Westwater, Layzi, ODB Project, and SAVAK.  In addition, Gail Greenwood will join Tanya Donnelly and The Parkington Sisters as a special guest. Festival representatives also announced that due to renovation delays at Christ Church United, the church unfortunately won’t be used this year as a venue.  Subsequently two new venues have been added to the festival for 2022, Taffeta at the Western Avenue Studios and 5th Floor at Mill No. 5 (both newly developed venues).

The second annual The Town and The City Festival is in Lowell, Massachusetts this weekend, October 18 and 19. If last year’s festival is any indication, this year’s festival will be incredible.

Composed of mostly Boston-area artists, the lineup contains both well-known and up-and-coming artists. Spread across venues in downtown Lowell, there are artists that appeal to a myriad of tastes.

The Final Round Of AmericanaFest Performers Announced

The final round of  lineup announcements was made a couple of weeks ago (while I was on vacation). I am excited that some more friends and personal favorites are on the list! I already wish this festival lasted for six weeks instead of six days so I could see everyone I want to see!

Some of those friends/favorites are: Birds of Chicago, Charley Crockett, JP Harris, Rev. Sekou and The Lone Bellow (to name a few).

This is an amazing festival/conference. Even if you only purchase a wristband, it is still a terrific experience. The full conference registration, in my opinion, is money well spent because you can attend panel discussions and receive invitations to special events.

Celebrate the Summer Solstice At Make Music Boston Day!

Spend some time tomorrow going to free music events around Boston at Make Music Boston! This is a fabulous celebration of the City’s diverse music scene.

I was privileged to photograph the event the past two years and am sad to miss it this year (because I do not live in the area at this point). I made a number of friends from some of the performances I saw in addition to hearing their wonderful music.

One of my personal favorites was the Bucket Drumming – you can participate or stand back and enjoy. I highly recommend that event.

Here Are The Final Additions To The AMERICANAFEST℠ Line-up!

The Americana Music Association is thrilled to bring to you today the last round of almost 300 artists slated to perform at this year’s AMERICANAFEST!

More friends have been added to the line-up and I am incredibly excited for them!  Not only are friends performing, but also some of my favorite bands so I can already tell I am going to have a difficult time deciding what showcases to see.

This is an amazing festival and conference. I know no matter what I see, though, I will hear fabulous music!
