Wow, The Newport Folk Made Amazing Additions To The Lineup
The Newport Folk Festival continues its amazing lineup announcements!
The announcements made over the past two weeks are:
Hurray for the Riff Raff – One of my favorite bands is returning to NFF! The new album is phenomenal.
Steelism with Ruby Amanfu and Nicole Adkins – I have not seen this band although I saw Ruby Amanfu last year at NFF (and was wowed by her).
John Paul White – I love him – I have seen him a couple of times over the past year and his fantastic voice and songwriting easily won my heart!
Pinegrove – Another band I have not yet seen! This indie rock/alt-country band from New Jersey sounds right up my alley!
Jim James – A solo performance by this front man of My Morning Jacket! I have seen him solo and love him!
Blind Pilot – I like this band but have not seen them – yet!
Suzanne Vega – I have not seen her in several years but I always enjoy her shows. Seeing her at NFF will be great!
Sunday Groove with Preservation Hall Jazz Band – Any time with Preservation Hall Jazz Band is fabulous!
Whitney – Yet another band about which I know nothing! I love discovering great new music at NFF!
Jalen N’Gonda – I do not know this soul/R&B musician but I love the genre so I expect to love him!
SPEAK OUT – “Artists have challenged injustice, fought for equality and exercised freedom to sing the truth. This tradition continues with SPEAK OUT, a celebration of the power of song.” This sounds perfect for this year.
Offa Rex – This is a collaboration between The Decemberists and Olivia Chaney.
Wilco – Yes!!! The only time I saw this marvelous band was at my first NFF and I am thrilled they are returning!
I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on which acts to see, once I know who is performing which day.
At this point, there are no remaining tickets, but you can sign up here for the official fan exchange. This is an amazing festival – hope to see you at the Fort!!!
