The Newport Folk Festival Lineup Continues To Amaze

The Newport Folk Festival continues its rolling lineup announcements with more excellent artists! I wish I did not have to wait so long to be back at the Fort – one of my happiest places!

The announcements made over the past two weeks are:

Tyler Childers – This Americana artist has been on my radar to see! It is as if NFF is reading my wish list this year… Well, every year to be honest!

Passenger – This is another artist I do not know but I am looking forward to the introduction to this acoustic roots/folk performer.

Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam – I know Leithauser but not Rostam, but the collaborations at NFF are always amazing and this should be too.

Phoebe Bridgers – I am completely unfamiliar with her but I trust NFF’s opinions.

The Lone Bellow – My introduction to this marvelous Americana band was at their first NFF appearance; I was blown away then and I continue to be wowed by them.

JD McPherson – I saw him for the first time last year and fell in love with his music, so I am thrilled this bluesy roots rocker will be at the Fort this summer.

Charlie Parr – I know his name but this folk artist seems to fit right into the NFF family.

I plan to post the announcements weekly until NFF has completed the entire lineup. At that point, I might offer my opinions on which acts to see, once I know who is performing which day.

At this point, the Festival is sold out; the right way to try to purchase a ticket is through their fan-to-fan ticket exchange. Get yourself on the waiting list – I know a lot of people who were able to purchase tickets last year through this site. This is an amazing festival – even going for one day is worth it. Get on the list now!!!

Saturday:  Courtney Barnett, Tank and the Bangas, Colter Wall, Bedouine, Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam, Phoebe Bridgers

I've loved the arts all my life... I go to a lot of concerts, take lots of photos and want to share them. Every once in a while I do something other than a concert, too. The Boston area is full of opportunities to indulge my passion - I'd like to help make it yours too!
