A Living Legend Comes To The Lowell Summer Music Series!

The Lowell Summer Music Series welcomes yet another great first-timer to the Series – Peter Cetera – on Saturday, August 4th!

“Grammy© Award-winning singer/songwriter, Peter Cetera has had two distinct musical careers.

“From 1968 thru 1986, Peter was the singer, songwriter and bass player for the legendary rock group Chicago.  In his time with the group, they recorded 18 of the most memorable albums of a generation, which included such hits as “If You Leave Me Now”, “Hard to Say I’m Sorry”, “Baby What a Big Surprise”, “You’re the Inspiration”, “25 or 6 to 4,” “Stay the Night”, “Love Me Tomorrow”, “Happy Man”, “Feeling Stronger Every Day” and “Along Comes a Woman”.

“A solo artist since 1986, Peter has recorded 10 time-honored CD’s including his #1 hits, the Academy Award nominated song “The Glory of Love” from the hit movie “The Karate Kid II”, “The Next Time I Fall” with Amy Grant, “Feels Like Heaven” with Chaka Kahn”,  “After All” with Cher from the motion picture “Chances Are”, “No Explanation” from the mega hit film, “Pretty Woman” and the unforgettable “Restless Heart”.

“Peter is currently touring with his 7 piece electric band, “The Bad Daddy’s” and still enjoys performing his timeless hits which continue to touch the lives of so many people worldwide.”

Tickets for the Peter Cetera show are priced at $69 in advance (fee-free!). There are also premium seats – beach chairs are provided by the Series – set in two rows directly in front of the stage for $169. Tickets for this show go on sale on Monday, March 26th at 9 a.m. through Lowell Summer Music Series.

For those of you who are unaware of the Series, or if you are aware of it but have never attended a show there, it is an outdoor (weather permitting) concert series held on National Park Service grounds in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Series is not-for-profit, which helps keep the ticket prices reasonable.

Surrounding Boarding House Park are old mill buildings, part of the Lowell National Historical Park, which you can tour if you arrive early enough. They provide an unusual setting for an evening of great music and ambiance.

The Series generally runs from mid-June to early September.

This Series is dear to my heart. I have been a season pass holder since 2007 and it is one of the highlights of the year (and of summer in particular) for me. Many lasting friendships have been made there. I expect this will be another excellent year!

I will post additional announcements for the Series as they are made.

So far, the  lineup is:

June 14 (Thursday) – David Crosby

June 15 (Friday) – Rhiannon Giddens

June 17 (Sunday) – Fitz & The Tantrums
