Playing to a smaller audience than they deserved, Liz Longley, Heather Maloney, and Sarah Blacker treated us to a trio of sets that showcased the talent each of them possesses.
I was familiar with the music of all three young women prior to this show, and was excited to see how their styles worked off each other.
Heather Maloney Has A Bright Future
Each time I listen to indie folk artist Heather Maloney’s new album, Making Me Break, I decide on a new favorite song. As I write this, I believe the title song is my favorite but I know that will change.
Triple-Header Singer-Songwriter Show
This summer, the Lowell Summer Music Series presented a few new types of shows for us. One of them, a slate of three singer-songwriters, was held on another glorious evening last month. Heather Maloney, Adam Ezra, and Ben Taylor were the musicians we saw.
The show consisted of 45 minute sets from Heather and Adam, and 75 minutes from Ben. Adam was first to the stage.
Despite Rain, The Green River Festival Was A Winner!
I had never attended the Green River Festival, a two-day festival in Greenfield, Massachusetts, before the 28th annual Festival held last weekend. I was only able to attend on Sunday but it was enough to know that Green River is great fest!
My first impression was that the vibe is very chill; when I asked a volunteer about my photo pass, she led me to a booth and waited to make sure I got the pass. She told me the ‘rules’ and perquisites associated with the pass.
The Lowell Summer Music Series Adds An Interesting Show
The most recent announcement from the Lowell Summer Music Series is for a triptych of musicians (and not a trio, since they are all doing their own sets). I’m pleased to announce that Ben Taylor, Heather Maloney, and Adam Ezra will perform at the Series on Friday, August 15.
