Fabulous American Roots Music Triple Play
You would think I had enough music last weekend at the Newport Folk Festival that I might need a bit of a break, but you would be mistaken! I’m not sure I could ever hear too much Americana music, so I headed over to T.T. The Bear’s Place for this fabulous triple bill.
Two of the three acts I saw this night – The Deslondes and Willy Gantrim – were at Newport this year (although I did not see them except when they sat in for other sets) while Spirit Family Reunion, the headliner, was at the Festival the previous two years.

This additions to the Festival lineup are:

The Deslondes – this band is incredible! I saw them last fall and was blown away – they’re going to be perfect for the Festival
Anais Mitchell and Jefferson Hamer – I’ve heard good things about these singer-songwriters and look forward to catching their set
Sun Kil Moon – another artist of whom I’ve heard only positive opinions so I’m excited to have the opportunity to see them at the Fort
The lineup, so far, includes:

Outstanding Americana Triple-Header!
This is one show for which I had high expectations – I’d seen two of the three bands and adored the shows I saw. This sold-out show at The Sinclair surpassed my expectations!
The headliner of the show was Spirit Family Reunion. The first opener was The Deslondes and the second was Hurray for the Riff Raff. Any one of the three bands on the bill could have headlined and the audience would have been thrilled. Read the rest of this entry
