Outlaw Country At The Extended Play Sessions
The Extended Play Sessions American Roots Music Television announced that outlaw country act The Far West (currently touring with Dave and Phil Alvin) will be in the studio for a Session on Monday, March 23rd at 7 pm. This Session sounds like it will be another one not to miss!
Let’s continue our march into Spring 2015 with some wonderful music!
“Technically pure, slightly jaded, no-nonsense and honest with stellar storytelling for the every-man.” The Far West came together in early 2010, each member having left other bands to pursue a unique sound they weren’t getting elsewhere. Singer Lee Briante posted a late night Craigslist ad that consisted of nothing more than the text ‘looking to do something like this’ and a Waylon Jennings video. Texas born Robert Black responded within minutes and The Far West was born. Chicago native Aaron Bakker soon joined the band bringing his exceptional guitar playing to the lineup. With Michael Whiteside on piano & keys and Brian Bachman on drums, the line up was solidified.“
“LA Weekly writes, “Singer-guitarist Lee Briante has a certain John Prine-ian rasp to his voice, and he’s got some of Prine’s cut-to-the-bone lyrical wit. When they rev up, The Far West recall any number of the ’70s cosmic cowboy rockers, but when they break down, well that’s the real good stuff.”
“This is old-school, outlaw country…maybe with some Eagles and Allman Brothers thrown in for texture. It gonna be a night to rock.”`
This is a unique “speakeasy” with very limited seating for just 40 lucky souls; every seat is no more than 25 feet from the stage.
No flash photography or professional video cameras are allowed but you may take photos during the show… just turn off your flash and silence your cameras/phones.
Markus James will be sharing his talent with The Extended Play Sessions as he takes the stage on Monday, March 23rd to film The Extended Play Sessions. Doors are at 6pm with the show at 7pm and you can be included (for a $25 donation) by contacting them via e-mail at studioconcertseries@gmail.com. All guests are “invitation only” courtesy of the Extended Play Sessions. Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary food from the legendary buffet, complimentary beverages including beer, wine, soft drinks and mixed adult beverages. Beverages and food are available during the filming as well.
The Extended Play Sessions American Roots Music Television Studio is located just 25 minutes from downtown Boston in Norwood, Massachusetts (minutes off I-95 and Route 1) and has free parking right outside the doors!
