Final Show Announced For The 2015 Lowell Summer Music Series And It’s A Winner!
Booking the fabulous Warren Haynes is a coup for the 2015 Lowell Summer Music Series where he will appear on Saturday, August 15! This solo show (or at least not with Railroad Earth with whom he will tour this summer) is unusual and will be highly anticipated by all!
“As rock’s foremost MVP singer-guitarist, Warren Haynes has been constantly on the move and in the spotlight for the past two decades. During that time the Asheville, North Carolina, native has maintained his tenure in Gov’t Mule, the Allman Brothers Band, and The Dead, and while barely catching his breath between their tours and studio sessions, he has also performed or cut tunes with a diverse array of musicians. This diversity is showcased on the most recent Gov’t Mule album, Shout!, which features vocal contributions from Elvis Costello, Dr. John, Ben Harper, Toots Hibbert, Glenn Hughes, Jim James, Myles Kennedy, Dave Matthews, Grace Potter, Vintage Troubles Ty Taylor & Steve Winwood.
“Accolades bestowed upon Haynes range from Grammy wins and nominations to his ranking at number 23 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” He has played New York City’s historic Beacon Theater nearly 300 times, more than any other artist. Gov’t Mule has sold over two million song downloads from their own MuleTracks web site.”
Tickets for the Warren Haynes show are priced at $42 in advance (fee-free!), $50 on the day of the show (if available) and children 12 and under are always free courtesy of Eastern Bank. There are also premium seats – beach chairs are provided by the Series – set in two rows directly in front of the stage for $142. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 13 through Lowell Summer Music Series.
For those of you who are unaware of the Series, or if you are aware of it but have never attended a show there, it is an outdoor (weather permitting) concert series held on National Park Service grounds in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Series is not-for-profit, which helps keep the ticket prices reasonable.
Surrounding Boarding House Park are old mill buildings, part of the Lowell National Historical Park, which you can tour if you arrive early enough. They provide an unusual setting for an evening of great music and ambiance.
The Series generally runs from late June to early September.
This Series is dear to my heart. I have been a season pass holder since 2007 and it is one of the highlights of the year (and of summer in particular) for me. Many lasting friendships have been made there. I expect this will be another excellent year!
