Week Two of Newport Folk Festival Lineup Announcements
The Newport Folk Festival continues its lineup announcements and added an interesting act.
Garth Brooks Triumphs In Boston
Seventeen years had passed since Garth Brooks performed in Boston; for about half of them, he was retired from music. At the end of January, he triumphantly returned to give us six sold-out (or nearly sold-out) shows at TD Garden.
One look at Garth’s face tells you all you need to know – that he was thrilled with the reception he received!
Three Powerhouse Guitarists Amazed At The Narrows
I was a very lucky person to be able to see the first of the David Bromberg, Larry Campbell, and David Hidalgo shows which was held at The Narrows Center for the Arts recently.
I apologize that my photos are not as good as usual; there were a lot of mics on stage that proved tough to shoot around.
Hometown Audience Loves Its Native Son
Here’s the link to my review on No Depression of this marvelous folk/Americana/soul show by Ryan Montbleau at Club Passim on Thursday, February 5, 2015.
Second Lowell Summer Music Series Announcement
I am excited to announce the second show of the 26th season of the Lowell Summer Music Series! Hopefully this next announcement will make winter a little easier to tolerate! The Official Blues Brothers Revue will perform at the Series on Friday, July 31.
Fabulous Return to New England by The Iguanas
I have been waiting almost twenty years to see The Iguanas, one of my favorite bands, at Johnny D’s again and they did not disappoint!
Sure, I saw them last summer at the Green River Festival, but seeing them in their own show was what I needed. My patience was rewarded.
