Soulful Blues? Bluesy Soul?
The fabulous Canadian blues artist Matt Andersen made his way south of the border for a tour supporting his most recent release, Honest Man, and I was fortunate to be able to see not one but two of his shows! This Extended Play Sessions show was the second of those shows, and by now I knew his new album very well.

A Mostly Acoustic Blues/Soul Great Appears At The Extended Play Sessions
The incomparable Matt Andersen is making a repeat appearance at The Fallout Shelter at The Extended Play Sessions on Monday, March 21st. I saw Matt at a different venue recently (the second time I have seen him) and he is even more amazing than the first time I saw him. The audience at The Extended Play Sessions is in for a treat!

It Was a Fabulous Bluesy Soulful Funky Night in Lowell
JJ Grey & Mofro is a band that I had not seen until their performance at the Lowell Summer Music Series last month, but it was not due to a lack of desire.
I saw JJ perform as part of the Southern Soul Assembly, an acoustic quartet with JJ, Luther Dickinson, Anders Osborne, and Marc Broussard, in a show that will probably end up as one of the top ten shows of my concert year, but I had never seen him with his own band.
When the show at the Series was announced, I knew my time had finally come!
