A Melange Of World Music

All I knew about Grand Fatilla before I saw them perform at Regattabar was that the same bass player who is in one of my favorite bands (Club d’Elf) was in the band, and that was enough for me to want to see Grand Fatilla perform.

I was not at all surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed this show; excellent musicians and interesting music are a great combination!

Mind-Blowing Music at Lizard Lounge

This was the sixth time I’ve seen Club d’Elf this year at Lizard Lounge, and it was quite possibly the best – up to now! Okay, I am a bit biased because David Tronzo is a friend and whenever he appears with the band I try to attend.

Each Club d’Elf Show is Unique

There are not a lot of bands that I want to see repeatedly, regardless of how excellent their shows are.  Club d’Elf is an exception for me, in great part due to their rotating cast of characters.

They have a regular bi-weekly gig at Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, and the only constant seems to be Mike Rivard who plays bass and sintir. Read the rest of this entry

Club d’Elf Soars

Club d’Elf is an amazing ensemble that never seems to consist of the same members twice! I’ve seen them three times so far, and the only musician who has performed in all three shows is Mike Rivard, the bass and sintir player.
