The Oh Hellos Will Rock The ‘Dise!
I can’t wait for this show! The Oh Hellos, arguably my favorite act from the 2014 Newport Folk Festival, have their first (I believe) headlining SOLD-OUT show in Boston at The Paradise Rock Club on Friday, November 13th.

The Oh Hellos – Newport Folk Festival 2014
I would say ‘be there or be square’ but if you do not already have a ticket, you’re out of luck! Family and Friends and Cereus Bright open the show.
Nobody Ignored This Elephant (Revival) In The Room
Finally, I was able to see Colorado-based Elephant Revival perform a full set at a sold-out show at The Sinclair last weekend; sadly, I missed their sets at the festivals I attended last summer where they played, although I caught a few songs they performed at one of the Newport Folk Festival’s after-shows.

The show was absolutely worth seeing, and the rest of the audience agreed. They did not take the stage until 10:30 pm, but hardly anybody left early due to the late hour.

Tribute To Mighty Sam McClain And Benefit for Homelessness – Be There!
Mighty Sam McClain was a fixture on the Boston (and national) music scene for many years, and it was a great loss when he died five months ago. A tribute to his life with performances by many who knew him well is being presented at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, Massachusetts on Saturday, November 28th. This is a wonderful way to give thanks over Thanksgiving weekend. The information you need to order tickets is contained in the press release by Callanan & Klein Communications. I took none of the photos and credited the photographer if I know who took the shot.

Sam McClain
A Mighty Love—A Tribute to Mighty Sam McClain is an evening to remember and celebrate the life and music of Mighty Sam McClain, who died at age 71 in June 2015. The fundraiser to benefit homelessness (an issue near and dear to Sam’s heart) is set for the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA on Saturday, Nov 28 at 7:00 PM, the Sat. after Thanksgiving. An all-star line-up includes artists from blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll who are coming to honor Sam from multiple cities and countries (see full list below). There will also be video messages from other famous friends that worked with Sam. The event honors the life and music of Mighty Sam McClain, with his friends and those who have been deeply affected by the life and death of this great pillar of American music.

The Get Right Band Funked Up The House!
This was my third time seeing The Get Right Band, an Asheville-based funky rock band, at The Extended Play Sessions, and I am not growing tired of them in the least!

The Get Right Band
This band needs to be seen live to be fully appreciated; they have an energy as well as a way of connecting with their audience that makes them stand out.

Two More Shows Announced At The Extended Play Sessions
It’s a busy week at The Extended Play Sessions at the Fallout Shelter. In addition to Anthony Geraci and the Boston Blues All-Stars last night, we have shows on Friday and Sunday too!
An Evening Of Jazz Artistry
I would be less than honest if I said anything less than “Al DiMeola is one of my favorite musicians, jazz or otherwise”, and his performance last night at the Berklee Performance Center supported that opinion.
Al made a triumphant return to his former stomping grounds (I suppose I can’t call it an alma mater since he never graduated) on Halloween for the last show of his US Elegant Gypsy & More 2015 tour.
Anthony Geraci Delivered Chicago Blues To A Delighted Audience
The Fallout Shelter at The Extended Play Sessions was stuffed to the gills for this CD release show by Anthony Geraci and the Boston Blues All-Stars, and not a soul left disappointed in this amazing performance by Boston-based blues royalty.
The album, Fifty Shades of Blue, released the day of this show and the excitement – both from the audience and the band – was palpable as they took the stage.
