Patrolled by Radar invades The Extended Play Sessions on Saturday September 19th! It’s going to be a blowout performance from this Los Angeles band!!
Michelle Willson Brought A Little Bit Of Evil (Gal) To Lowell
It has been a long time, other than on a new year’s eve, since I have stayed out until almost 2 a.m. to hear music. I did just that over the weekend and heard the wonderful Michelle ‘Evil Gal’ Willson perform with some of The Usual Suspects at the Back Page in Lowell.
What a high energy show Willson delivered! I have seen her perform a number of times and this show was one of the best.
Blues The Way Blues Is Supposed To Be At The Extended Play Sessions
There have been many wonderful bands and memorable occasions at The Extended Play Sessions at The Fallout Shelter, and the next event will add to the list. HowellDevine is bringing their brand of Delta blues to the Sessions on Thursday, September 3rd.
The Black Lillies Brought Heat To The Fallout Shelter
On a fairly hot night, the Extended Play Sessions at the Fallout Shelter presented The Black Lillies, a wonderful Americana/blues/soul/rock band hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee.
While their music may take several words to define, it can be summed up in one word – terrific!
A Rare Solo Acoustic (!) Performance By Mr. Warren Haynes
It was a treat to know that the Lowell Summer Music Series would host the only solo appearance by Warren Haynes on the current tour, and even more of a treat to be in the audience for this show.
Haynes is widely regarded as one of the finest guitarists ever (number 23 on one of Rolling Stone‘s top 100 lists), and it is well deserved.
Fabulous Americana Musician Rod Picott At The Extended Play Sessions
We are honored to host one of America’s true hidden gems and a songwriter of extraordinary talent Rod Picott on Sunday, August 23rd.
Trombone Shorty Brought The Funk To Lowell
I have now seen Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue enough times (at least eight) to know that the band delivers a fantastic high-energy show, but this show at the Lowell Summer Music Series surpassed any expectations I had.
It was a gorgeous night in Boarding House Park – not humid, not hot (at least not after the sun passed behind the buildings), and, most important, not raining – and the crowd was ready to par-tay!
Dom Flemons, The American Songster, Captivated The Full House
I cannot say I have seen Dom Flemons perform ‘many’ times, but I have seen him enough to recognize that he is one of the most engaging, knowledgeable, and talented musicians touring today. The show this week at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts was as good a show of Dom’s as the others I have seen.
One could not have requested a more perfect evening. The temperature was perfect, the breeze slight, and the humidity almost non-existent. Oh yeah, and the music was sublime.
Fabulous Americana-Roots Band At The NEW Extended Play Sessions
We have had great bands and unforgettable moments at The Extended Play Sessions and Monday, August 17th will add to the aura as we host one of the best touring American Roots Music acts in the country, The Black Lillies!
