It Was An Evilicious Night, Indeed!
I am biased when it comes to Michelle ‘Evil Gal’ Willson; she is a friend, a cousin of a life-long friend, and a great singer. Still, I say without reservation that she is a consummate entertainer who is worth your time to see. She performed her brand of jazz/blues/soul music recently at The Extended Play Sessions at the Fallout Shelter.

Classic Rockers At Their Finest!
It can be risky to see aging rock stars perform; they might be playing guitar with arthritic hands, or their voices (which naturally change as they age) cannot hit the notes they still try to hit. Neither could be further from the truth for Peter Frampton, who appeared at the Lowell Summer Music Series last weekend.

This Was A Terrific Rock Show Under Starry Skies!
The Lowell Summer Music Series is an outdoor – weather permitting – venue, and local favorites Guster wanted this show to be outdoors. Their wish was granted due to wise weather-watching by the people who run the Series. What started off as a terrible afternoon ended up as a perfect evening under the stars.

Guster
This was my first time seeing Guster, despite the band’s numerous shows in the Boston area over the years they have been together.
AmericanaFest Adds Another Round Of Performers
I am attending my first AmericanaFest this year and could not be more excited! Some friends have already been announced – Aaron Lee Tasjan, The Ballroom Thieves, The Black Lillies, Brian Wright, Dietrich Strause, some members of The O’Connor Band; there are artists I love and others I know I will love once I hear them.

A Magical Evening of Amazing Harmonicas and Guitar
I first saw Shun Ng perform early last year at a show that was called An Afternoon of Extraordinary Guitars. That moniker did not overstate the talent on stage that day, so I eagerly anticipated seeing him at The Extended Play Sessions with Magic Dick, the harmonica player with the J. Geils Band.

Support This Blues Documentary
The final days of the Kickstarter campaign for the documentary The Blues Society, directed by Augusta Palmer, are upon us. It captures the Memphis Country Blues Festival between 1966 and 1969, a time when blacks and whites came together in a city full of strife and segregation.
