Alternate Root TV Presents Another Evening of Blues
Alternate Root TV announced that blues artists Fife and Drom (no, that’s not a misspelling) will be in the studio for an Extended Play Session on Tuesday, November 18th at 7 pm.
Jann Klose, An Engaging Performer
This was an evening with a first for me – this benefit show by Jann Klose was held in the Heald & Chiampa funeral home! Understand that the funeral home is the Sumner House, a historic structure, so it isn’t that difficult to comprehend that it would be a terrific setting for an acoustic concert.
The house is gorgeous with the original part built in 1797. I overheard someone say that the house is on the Underground Railroad (that person was taken to see the boarded-up entrance to it). Read the rest of this entry
Larkin Poe Rocked Us!
I don’t know how many of us who attended this week’s Extended Play Session at Alternate Root TV had any clue that our (music) world was going to be turned upside down by Larkin Poe; I know I didn’t!
Larkin Poe is Atlanta-based sisters Megan Lovell and Rebecca Lovell. The band is named for an ancestor of theirs who was a cousin of Edgar Allen Poe. Creativity definitely runs in their family!

Expect The Sacred Shakers To Warm Your Soul
I am excited to be seeing The Sacred Shakers at The Sinclair on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
Ian Anderson Delights Providence!
With a high level of excitement, I traveled to Providence to see Ian Anderson perform with his band at the Providence Performing Arts Center. What a terrific show!
I saw the band perform last year during their ‘Thick as a Brick and Thick as a Brick 2’ tour and was interested to see if my perception of Ian changed after interviewing him.

Alternate Root TV announced that blues/rock artists Larkin Poe will be in the studio for an Extended Play session on Monday, November 3rd at 7 pm.
Bob Schneider Delivers The Goods!
I was at a disadvantage at the Bob Schneider concert at Brighton Music Hall the other night; I seemed to be the only person in the audience who was not intimately familiar with Bob’s songs!
That did not spoil my enjoyment of the show, however.
Another Enchanting Evening With An American Songster
I have come to the realization that I am going to see Dom Flemons every chance I get! I saw him a couple of weeks ago at Club Passim, which was the second time I saw him in 2014.
Not only is he a terrific musician and ethnomusicologist, he’s a warm, personable man as well.
