Holiday Extravaganza At The Extended Play Sessions
The Extended Play Sessions First Annual Holiday Festival will be Friday, December 18th as we welcome the amazing Chandler Travis Philharmonic to the Fallout Shelter stage.

Chandler Travis is a throwback to a different time. Part vaudeville, part Brit pop, part California garage but all rolled into a consummate entertainer and songwriter.
Scorching Blues Rocked The Extended Play Sessions
Bobby Thompson Project made a much-anticipated return to The Extended Play Sessions last month. I did not think it would be possible to repeat the energy of his previous appearance in June; not only was it repeated, it was surpassed.

Bobby Thompson
This is mostly a photo essay about this show. Do not misinterpret this as a dislike of the show (as in, ‘if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything at all’); because I reviewed Bobby so recently, I decided to let the photos to speak volumes to you. The show was incendiary!

This “Machine” Was Well-Oiled!
I eagerly anticipated this show by Dave Rawlings Machine at The Wilbur Theatre! Several friends introduced me to his music several years ago and I was instantly smitten. Finally, there was a show in the Boston area and it beckoned me!

Dave Rawlings
Surprisingly, this show was not sold out but that did not diminish the energy in the theatre this night.
What An Exciting Performance By Three Up-and-Coming Americana Bands!
What a lucky week I have had, musically speaking! This headlining show by The Oh Hellos at Paradise Rock Club was the second amazing triple-play show in three days!

The Oh Hellos
The Oh Hellos delivered my favorite set of the 2014 Newport Folk Festival and I have been eagerly anticipating a Boston show since then. My patience was rewarded by this sold-out evening of incredible Americana music.
Passion Filled The Stage At This Americana Triple-Header
As I walked to my car after this stellar show, I overheard two men express exactly what I felt: that The Lone Bellow put their hearts and souls into the show, filling the less-than-intimate House of Blues with a passion as well as an intense connection with the audience that is not easy to achieve.

The Lone Bellow
The Lone Bellow has been on a meteoric rise since I first saw them at the Newport Folk Festival in 2013, and unless they stop creating new music, I do not foresee that slowing any time soon.
Drive On Down And See The Turnpike Troubadours
A friend suggested I should see The Turnpike Troubadours at The Wilbur Theatre last week because they do not travel much outside Oklahoma and Texas – or did not until this tour. I did not know the band prior to the show, but we have some similar taste in music so I took her advice and got a ticket.

The Turnpike Troubadours
All this was before I knew that The Black Lillies, one of my favorite up-and-coming bands, were supporting them on at least part of the tour!
