Bluegrass At Its Finest
Del and Dawg – Del McCoury and David Grisman – are a couple of the finest bluegrass musicians making music today so the prospect of seeing them share the stage at The Cabot excited me.

Come Hear A Mandolin Maestro
The legendary David Grisman is performing at the Chevalier Theatre in Medford, Massachusetts on Friday, April 15th.

What better way to relieve the stress of paying your taxes than to go to a show that promises to be amazing.
Gangstagrass Rocks My World!
Hip-hop bluegrass you’re saying to yourself – how could that be? I said the same when I saw them on Johnny D’s schedule for April 2014. I went to the show not knowing any of their music and walked out of that show knowing I had stumbled onto something amazing.

Gangstagrass
This, my fourth Gangstagrass show and their final show at Johnny D’s (because it is closing in March 2016), was no less stellar than my first, second or third shows! And truth be told they probably get better because I know their music so well (and consider them to be friends). Prepare yourself to read a biased, glowing review!

The Extended Play Sessions Host An Up-and-Coming Roots Act
The Extended Play Sessions American Roots Music Television announced that old-timey bluegrassy roots act Laney Jones and the Spirits will be in the studio for a Session on Friday, April 24th at 7 pm. I may be a bit biased since I know this act well, but this Session is one not to be missed!
Come share some fabulous music and friendship at this Session! Read the rest of this entry
The Howlin’ Brothers Deliver Foot-Stomping Good Music!
I was prepared to enjoy The Howlin’ Brothers at the Extended Play Sessions at Alternate Root TV, but I had no idea just how much! In fact, I enjoyed them so much I saw them a few days later at Atwood’s Tavern!
The announcement for the show promised a foot-stompin’, loud hollerin’ show, and the Brothers delivered just that (with emphasis on the foot stomping).
A Freshgrass Kind Of Sunday
I was lucky enough to attend both full days (there is a small line-up on Friday evening which I was unable to attend) of the Freshgrass Festival in the Berkshires. Saturday was a long but fabulous day, and Sunday was no less than that.
In fact, I was more excited about Sunday’s line-up. (Click here for my review of Saturday.)
You Need to See Gangstagrass!
I am in love with Gangstagrass! There, I’ve said it… This writer, who has seen a lot of bluegrass bands but never a hip-hop band, loves the hip-hop bluegrass that is Gangstagrass!
They performed to a less than sold-out, but very enthusiastic, crowd at Church of Boston on Saturday night. Read the rest of this entry
