Ain’t Nothing Like A Dance Party With The Mavericks
I cannot mince words – I believe The Mavericks is one of the best bands touring and releasing new music today, so I was thrilled to see them at Parker Playhouse last night. As always, I was not disappointed!

Americana/Roots Rocker You Want To Know
I was lucky enough to see The Texas Gentlemen and Friends at Newport Folk Festival this year; they delivered one of my favorite sets of the Festival. The Gentlemen are a collaborative of Texas musicians, one of whom is guitarist Kirby Brown.

I spoke with Kirby later that day and then ran into him and several other Gentlemen at the Americana Music Association Festival and Conference a couple of months later. I am now the lucky recipient of his new EP Out of Exile 1 and I love it!
Roots Rock At The Extended Play Sessions
Tomorrow night (Friday, March 11th), we will be hosting a special evening at The Extended Play Sessions at The Fallout Shelter with American Roots rock band Jo Henley with special guests Hayley Sabella on vocals and sax master Rob Loyot on saxophone and percussion.

It promises to be another evening of incredible music and community.
Incredible Roots Rock Blues Show By The Alvin Brothers
After seeing Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin and The Guilty Ones perform at a festival last summer, I knew I had to see their headlining show at The Sinclair. Dave and Phil recently returned to performing and recording together; the joy they feel while sharing a stage is obvious and the audience could feel it too.
Last year, they released the Grammy-nominated Common Ground, a tribute to legendary bluesman Big Bill Broonzy, and performed many songs from that album. Read the rest of this entry
