The Silks Are Bringing Their New Album To The Fallout Shelter
Rhode Island based The Silks are making their début at The Fallout Shelter at The Extended Play Sessions in support of their new album, Turn Me On.

The Silks at Thunder Road March 4, 2016
I have had the privilege of seeing this band several times and enjoy them more each time.
Kingsley Flood Will Rock You
I have been a fan of Kingsley Flood since I first saw them perform at the Lowell Summer Music Series at least six years ago, and the love continues.

Another Other
They recently released a new album – Another Other – which is their most personal album to date, and it will be featured at their upcoming show at The Sinclair on Friday, November 18th. Tickets are still available here and you need to be at the show! Both openers – Leland Sundries and Jenny Dee and the Deelinquents – are killer and you should catch them too.
A Night Of Entrancing Music
Seeing Trixie Whitley perform has been on my radar since a friend introduced me to her music three years ago, and my wish was finally granted over the weekend at The Red Room at Café 939 (a Berklee College of Music venue).

Music And Politics
This website is for musings about music and the arts in general and this post is about that and more. Well, sort of…
The Great American Songbook Is Alive And Well
I first heard of Michael Feinstein at least thirty years ago, but did not see him perform until recently. I have no idea why I waited – if you enjoy songs by the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen and others as I do, you should see Feinstein.

Magic Happened
It is rare that I use ‘magic’ to describe a music or any other event, but magical is the perfect description for the evening with Livingston Taylor at The Extended Play Sessions at the Fallout Shelter.

If You Like Boz Scaggs, You Will Love Garrett Lebeau!
Sometimes I go on faith that the person booking a show knows something I do not. Such was the case recently when I saw Garrett Lebeau at The Extended Play Sessions at the Fallout Shelter.

An Evening of Guitar Magic
While I have seen Jason Isbell perform a number of times over the past four years, I had not seen him with the 400 Unit since the band swept the 2014 Americana Music Association top awards with the album Southeastern nor since they won the best album and song awards at this year’s AMA.

Jason Isbell
I love the latest album, Something More Than Free, so I knew I was in for a treat at his recent show at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
It Was A Perfect Night At Boarding House Park
I am biased when it comes to The Lone Bellow; they were one of my two favorite sets at the 2013 Newport Folk Festival and my love for them has not diminished. Friday night’s show at the Lowell Summer Music Series was another superb performance by this Americana/indie folk band.

The Lone Bellow
It was a hot and humid evening and that might have affected everyone’s energy level, but the band delivered their trademark energetic show and gained many new fans.
The Mavericks Never Bring Me Down!
Despite the title of one of The Mavericks better-known songs (“All You Ever Do is Bring Me Down”), this band always delivers a fantastic show that keeps me smiling for days after the show!

The Mavericks
This show at the South Shore Music Circus was no different, with one caveat which I mention at the end of this review.
